I stayed in Beverly Hills during my trip to Los Angeles this weekend. What a great weekend of shopping, dining, drinking, hiking, sight seeing, and lounging at the beach!
I can only afford to look at the shops on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. My hotel was only three blocks from here.
The "Abba" mensroom at Hamburer Mary's in West Hollywood. Complete with Abba music, disco ball, posters, and other lighting. How fun!
The Pride flag stands tall on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Out on Hollywood Boulevard, stars shine and a ridiculous amount of tourists gather to watch obnoxious street performers and board buses that take you to the stars homes. Big whip-de-doo!

From behind the Kodak Theater the "Hollywood" sign peeks out of the mountains.

I took time out for lunch at the World Famous "Pinks" hotdog stand. I waited in line for almost an hour to get one! No celebrity sightings on this trip.
The pre-historic LeBrea Tar Pits sit on the Miracle Mile.
Here's a great view of the Hollywood Bowl from atop the mountains.

On top of the famous Mulholland Drive I went for a short hike in Runyon Canyon Park. I didn't see any rattlesnakes. I miss out on all the fun. What a great view of the city from up here!

On my last full day I went for a hike in Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The top pictures show Paramount Ranch within the park. It was the setting for Dr. Quinn Medicine Women as well as 60 other movies through the years.

Two beautiful pictures from Solstice Canyon within the park. You can see the Pacific Ocean in the top pictures.

Here's me in the park by the waterfall.
A creek in Solstice Canyon within the park.
It's like Rescue 51 with the wrong number on the truck!
Here's me on the beach in Malibu.
Santa Monica beach from the pier.
The famous Santa Monica Pier!

Here's pictures from the 3rd Street Promenade in downtown Santa Monica.

Here's me and my girl Amie at the softball party!
The softball league I play for (Queen City Softball League) had it's beer blast last Saturday as a fundraiser. Here's me with some of the "older guys"!
My brother called me the other day to announce that he was getting married and that he wanted me to be the Best Man! He's pictured above with Connie, his fiancee. They're having an October 20th wedding in Jacksonville.

Another bike ride, more pics! Here you can finally see St. Louis R.C. Church now that the Vernor's Building is completely demolished!
Finally, the finished product. The old federal reserve bank transformation is complete. Welcome to downtown New Era's World Headquarters.
The city is proposing that this area under the I-190 near the waterfront become a skate park. It's one of many "pocket parks" proposed in Buffalo along with a dog park, and a park on the Black Rock canal.
These new signs have been appearing around the city lately. I have seen them at Tift Farms and downtown. It's about time Buffalo toots its own horn!
What another great spring day in Buffalo!
Here is the most up to date plan for the Erie Canal Harbor posted at the site.
The temporary casino downtown is almost ready to open. Construction of the "real" casino is still on going.
Work has begun on "Warehouse Lofts" on Ellicott next door to the downtown library.

What an amazing day it was today, 78 degrees and sunny. I took time after work to take a long bike ride around town. (This picture doesn't seem to show much except St. Louis R.C. Church on Main Street. The kicker is I could never see it from this angle before because of the old Vernor's Building. Now that most of it has been knocked down I can see the entire church.)
Here's a closer picture of the church. Check out the lower right hand corner and you can see where some of the old Vernor's building is still standing.

Ellicott Commons lofts on Washington Street is finally done and is searching for tenants.

Finally, the old Vernors building right next to my apartment is being knocked down to make room for more residential units. It's too bad the owner refused to fix it, but at least there's progress.

I found out today that my brother and his girlfriend moved to Jacksonville, Florida from Daytona Beach. All I can say is, thank God! Daytona is nice, just small, and for the last several years visiting him I was running out of things to do.
Jax has about 500,000 people compared to 65,000 in Daytona. The only question now is, when do I plan my next trip?

The May issue of the magazine is out. Get it while it's hot!
Me and my friend Michael went to the Buffalo Zoo yesterday. It was something different to do on a nice Sunday afternoon. I haven't been there since high school.

An elephant, and of course, a Buffalo (Bison) looking pretty mean!

Jeffrey the Giraffe poses for the camera and the cute monkey eats some litter left by idiot vistors.
