Check out my article on Green Denver-Part 2 on buffalorising.com.
Me and my Couch Surfing visitor Karis from Perth, Australia spent the day touring Niagara Falls.
That's a whole lot of water!

Check out my first of a series of articles I am doing for Buffalo Rising Magazine and buffalorising.com on Green Denver. I will be doing free lance work for them on a regular basis. Look for my photographs of outdoor public art in the next issue of BR Magazine! Here's the Denver story. http://www.buffalorising.com/story/green_denver#sca

Yesterday I spent the day golfing with Dad for Father's Day at Dande Farms Country Club in Akron. It was a beautiful day!
Dad takes a shot at the ball.
Everyone enjoys some drinks after golf.
98, not bad for only my second time out this year!

The crowds were large as usual at the 51st annual Allentown Art Festival. On Saturday I went with my brother, sister-in-law, and my friend Darrell.

The Erie County Sheriff's Department Mounted Division patrol the festival on horseback.
Buffalo Public School students "chalk" it up at the festival.

The street along Allen West is a lot tighter than Delaware Ave.

Here's me on my friend Darrell's balcony.
Some of the artist tents along Delaware Ave.
The crowd moves about the festival.

Buffalo lost an amazing native son today. Tim Russert, the South Buffalo native and NBC's Meet The Press anchor was an excellent journalist and an incredibly down to earth guy who boosted Buffalo every chance he got. The country already seems less without him!

While returning from a bike ride tonight I noticed Buffalo Police with their lights on a couple blocks from my apartment on Tupper. Upon further investigation it turns out it was a very rare Sobriety Checkpoint. I heard some grumbling about one in South Buffalo last week. I think they're a good thing, the partying downtown can sometimes be a bit much especially on the weekends and Thursday nights after "The Square". As I write this at 11:10 p.m. I can see that everyone is still there.
My brother, sister-in-law, and my friend Darrell went for a walk all over downtown, Allentown, and the west side yesterday. I snapped off some pictures along the way. The first is of the Medina Sandstone corner stone to the old Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Main Street in midtown.
The beautiful Allendale Theater (c.1913) home to the Theater of Youth (TOY) on Allen Street.
This is a first, I have never seen the fountain and Days Park actual on. I have noticied a trend this spring of fountains functioning that I have never seen working before. Great job Mayor Brown!

At Jersey and Plymouth stands the beautiful old Engine 2 (c.1873) firehouse that I believe is still for sale by the city. I can envision condo's or townhouses maybe with indoor parking and a large patio out back. It's a neighborhood right behind Kleinhans Music Hall that is very much changing for the better.

While walking on Porter Avenue near Plymouth we stopped at the little know Life Memorial Park, a tribute to victims of AIDS. In the top picture you can see a "ribbon" shaped red walk way. The park also has several benches and the U.S. and Pride flags fly above.

The actual memorial, front and back.

The crowd gathers in anticipation of Buffalo's annual Gay Pride Parade and festivities! Some friends and myself watched the parade on Sunday then participated in the post parade fun. Here's some pictures!
The program for this years celebration.
The motorcycle cops mean the parade ain't far behind!
Every Gay Pride parade has to have a humongous pride flag!
One of the Buffalo Bulldog's poses for the crowd.
A hottie with the Buffalo Gay Mens Chorus marches along.
One of the Buffalo Roller Girls weaves through the parade route.
Steve, Donnie, and the rest of the gang from Marcella's atop their float.
The rather large crowd, extimated at 15,000 along the parade route.
My friend Chris and I pose at The Marketplace.
Theatrical funny girl Loraine O'Donnell and John Borsa from Channel 7 M.C.ed the day's events.
Jamie from Roxy's puts on a show of her own in front of the stage.
Cutie Matt belts a song out with the Buffalo Gay Mens Chorus.

The best part of Gay Pride is all the hot boys! Here's a couple for starters.
