While returning from a bike ride tonight I noticed Buffalo Police with their lights on a couple blocks from my apartment on Tupper. Upon further investigation it turns out it was a very rare Sobriety Checkpoint. I heard some grumbling about one in South Buffalo last week. I think they're a good thing, the partying downtown can sometimes be a bit much especially on the weekends and Thursday nights after "The Square". As I write this at 11:10 p.m. I can see that everyone is still there.
