Yesterday I went to my friend Michael's Birthday/House Warming party in Kenmore. Here's Michael and Darren.
Me and the birthday boy on my way out!

The shut in's back on the scene at Cathode Ray!
What a hard life! I need to be reincarnated as a cat.

On saturday me and my friend Darrell went to the Lower Lakes Marine Historical Society Museum (Whoa, long name!) on Erie Street in downtown Buffalo.
Cool logo!
The museum had a decent amount of waterfront and maritime artifacts.
This bell was originally on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Ojibwa stationed in Buffalo in the 40's.

Me and brother went to Cole's after the Inauguration Ceremonies for some lunch and to continue watching the historic coverage. Love those burgers!

Finally, what else can I say!

For the second time in less than a week Buffalo has earned some national press. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named Buffalo one of its Dozen Distinctive Destinations for 2009. Watch the video called Buffalo: A Sense of Place, featured on their web site.

Here's a little transcript from the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central in a segment on President Bush.

President Bush-"I know I gave it my all for 8 years and I didn't sell my sole for the sake of popularity".
Jon Stewart-"Me too. You sold ours!"

Check out yesterday's (Sunday)edition of the New York Times Travel section which listed Buffalo as one of it's top travel destinations in 2009. It is one of only 8 domestic destinations listed incuding Hawaii and Alaska.

I highly recommend checking out a new web site called True Blue Buffalo. It offers web based television programming about Buffalo featuring Nelson Starr, a final in a Travel Channel contest. The first episode of All Access Pass features Bistro Europa on Elmwood and Olivers in North Buffalo. There's also a segment from Preservationist Tim Tielman called Adventures in Buffaloland.

While cleaning up my computer files I came across this video I took at Krave Night Club in Las Vegas of "The Little Village People". They are very entertaining if your drunk at 3 a.m. in Sin City!

Me and my friend Darrell stumbled across the Slavic Bazzar on William and Bailey Ave. I had heard about this place and have been meaning to check it out. They sell eastern European and Russian foods and goods. They also have a small restaurant in the front and it serves as a pierogi factory. They make thousands of pierogi daily and ship them literally all over the U.S. and Canada.
The bazzar's speciality, pierogies. These one's were sweet cherry.
Some sheep's cheese from Bulgaria.
Some of the sausage stocked in the refrigerated section.
Yum, the deli counter!
Some Polish syrups used in baking.
The shelves are packed with goods.
A truck is being loaded for shipping somewhere in the United States.
Before the Slavic Bazzar me and Darrell went to the Fireman's Memorial Exhibit Center in West Seneca.
A helmet from my old fire department, Doyle No. 2.
Some of the old hose carts from the 1800's.
Here's a very detailed leathe rbelt from U-Crest Fire Company.

Me and my friends, Luke and Darrell went for a winter hike at Tifft Farm Nature Preserve in Buffalo. Here's a picture of Lake Kirsty.
Luke and Darrell pose by the lake.
This is actually carved into the porch of the education center.
We didn't head up on the mounds this trip.
Anyone up for a swim?
The boardwalk's are still open.
Predictably the deer were out in force.
What do you people want?
I only have a few pictures from New Yorks Eve. Here's the boys at Underground working hard!
Joel works it out behind the bar.
Hottie Michael poses for me.

Here's a short video I took of the fireworks after the ball drop in downtown Buffalo on New Years Eve!
