This cartoon was in the November issue of Solidarity, my Union's magazine. It seems scarily accurate to me!

Only 5 more days to Halloween! (Above: The famously haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado was Steven King's motivation for the movie The Shining. It's reported that the Kings' left their room at the hotel for a while and returned to all their clothes being packed and no staff were responsible.)

I've never believed in ghosts but I've been haunted by them all my life.
-Edgar Allen Poe-
Me and my friend Darrell went out to North Amherst to pick out pumkin's (punkin, if your name is Jeff) to carve for Halloween.
Indian corn, very colorful. Tasty? Not so much!
That's a lot of gourds!
Darrell "guts" the pumkin.
Darrell's "scary cat" pumkin on the left and my "haunted house" pumkin on the right!

It's a bit of a crappy cell phone picture but yes, that is snow, the first of the season. And not a little bit either! This was taken at my work in Lockport on my lunch.

My boy Leland got a clean bill of health last Thursday from the vet. Isn't he so cute?
Me and my friend Darrell became tourists in our own city today for Doors Open Niagara.
Our first stop was Gilda's Club on Delaware Avenue. Orginally owned by the Conners family of Courier Express fame this former house turned 100 this year.
The patio and garden overlooking Delaware Avenue.
The sun room on the first floor.
We moved our tour towards the east side of Buffalo, the historic Broadway Fillmore neighborhood. Our first stop was St. Ann's R.C. Church and Shrine built from 1878-1886.
Some of the great stained glass windows above the alter.
Happy 150th birthday!
The alter of the church.
A close up of a gargoyle on the side of the alter.
Next stop St. Stanislaus R.C. Church on Townsend Street. The church built in 1873 was known as the epicenter of this old Polish neighborhood.
Wow, what an amazing alter!
The baptismal was pretty ornate.

A close up of the rear portion of the church.
This old tree was uniquely carved to look like a train hoisting something.
An Amazing view out from the street.
The Central Terminal Restoration Corp. recently added new sidewalks stamped with these Buffalo's.
Some of the old signage.
A great view of the Main Concourse.
An overhang at the old Main entrance.
Me in front of the clock tower.
The historic towers of Corpus Christi R.C. Church (c.1909) on Clark Street.
Before we left the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood we stopped by the Broadway Market (c.1888).
On our way back into downtown we stopped at Choco Logo on Broadway. This chocolate is amazing and they make it on site.
Next on our list was the Electric Tower on Washington Street.
The front desk.
The view from the 14th floor of the building.
A great view of Fountain Plaza.
A close up of the gold dome.
A great view of the entire gold dome of M&T Bank.
The conference room in the old 7th floor executive's offices.
The renovated second floor lobby.
Several of the decorative features in the railings have a shiny metal tower in them.
The big picture!
Next stop was the Market Arcade Building built in 1892 was the forerunner to today's shopping mall.
This sign sits in the lobby of the building.
A portion of the amazing architecture outside the building.
One of the painted Buffalo's from the Walk Buffalo tour outside the Arcade.

Our last stop was the Frank Llyod Wright designed boathouse on Corral Drive off Porter Avenue.
