After the Media event I wandered down Chippewa Street and onto the Bike's and Blue's event. I can honestly say there were hundreds of bike's up and down the street. As long as their not driving by my place what do I care!
Tonight I went to the Curtain Up Media preview event at Club Marcella's. Raquel, Joey, and F'Ya all out of drag!

While we were leaving I was trying to take a picture of this cool house as Jim was jumping in and out of my shot like an ass.......LOL
The food court was jamming!
Yum, Fat Bob's!
Even though the festival started out under rain and clouds it was still packed with people.
Me and Jim went to the Elmwood Festival of the Arts today. Mostly to eat, but we did look around a bit too.

My hot picture of the week. Although this is an old picture of Justin(he has much bigger arms now!) the tummy is yummy.
The canal hath water again! The Commercial Slip of the Erie Canal along the Buffalo waterfront in downtown has been refilled with water again. The strip in the middle will be removed so that boaters can pull up and dock here. The entire waterfont project including the history museum (seen upper right) will be complete by next summer.

Some of you may recognize this as the old run down building behind The Underground. Rocco Termini, downtown loft builder extraordinare, will take on this building as another loft project.
The Central Terminal Restoration Corp. Miraculously got the city to pave the road and lot leading up to the terminal. This is a huge plus for this preservation group. The terminal has been very active all summer hosting, among other things, weddings, beer parties, and even an antique car show. Before you know it the entire building will be restored to it's original glory.

This video featuring Buffalo recently showed up on "you tube". Take a look, it's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-daazUPy3A.
This is my latest addition to my art collection. I got this on Newbury Street in Boston. The artist calls it "Bad Idea", hence the broken light bulb. Now if I can find a place to put it. I'm quite sure Jeff will have an idea!

I was informed late last night that in my absence my team, The Underground won the championship of the Queen City (gay) Softball League. I had a good feeling we would I just wish I could have been there for the final game. Oh well, I'll be on hand when the team excepts the trophy on September 9th at our banquet.
This view was taken from old Griffen's Wharf. The canal is the site of the Boston Tea Party. The site that houses one of the replica ships from the tea party is under construction. Figures, just my luck, my trip ends in disappointment. After this shot I took the subway back to the airport and headed back to sunny Buffalo.
I though this sign in the sidewalk made for another cool picture.
I though this back alley in Boston made for a cool picture.
After Brookline I walked around trendy Newbury Street back in Boston where I eventually bought another piece of unique art.
Sunday I took a side trip to Brookline, Massachusetts, the birthplace of J.F.K. This is the home he was born in. After my trip out to this Boston burb I went to the J.F.K. Presidential Museum on the campus of M.I.T.
The Quincy Market sits between the North and South Market's. This entire area is jammed packed with street performers and crowds everyday. This picture was taken very early in the morning, hence the light crowd.
At the Quincy Market this dapper young lad was entertaining people on the pedestrian mall. WOW!
My digs in Boston, the Oasis Guest House. It occupied two brick row houses right next to each other. The rooms were a bit small, but hey, it's a guest house in Boston!
These bovine in front of Boston City Hall are part of their civic pride art project.
Boston's Holocaust Memorial sits across from city hall.
Probably America's most famous bar, Cheer's! Where everybody knows your name. Ironically, nobody in the bar knew who I was, go figure!
Meanwhile, in the bar I had a "pint" at the bar in Norm's seat!
A police boat cruises down the Charles River by the Boston skyline.
The World War 2 destroyer U.S.S. Casin Young, now property of the National Park Service stands behind a Park Ranger's car.
The U.S.S. Constitution, "Old Ironsides", sits at the Charlestown Navy Yard. She gained her famous nick name during the War of 1812 when cannonballs literally bounced off her hull. The ship is still commissioned with the U.S. Navy to this day.
"On the road again", Engine 50 from the Winthrop Street Station makes a run.
The Winthrop Street Fire Station has been in existance for 150 years. Even though it's in Charlestown it's run by the Boston Fire Department. As firehouses go, this is a beaut!
The Bunker Hill monument. It marks the site of the Battle of Bunker Hill where Col. Prescott ordered, "Don't fire 'til you see the whites of their eyes".
Hang in there folks, there's a lot of history of Boston and even more pictures!
In the steeple of the infamous Old North Church two lantern's hung to signal colonists in Charlestown that the British were coming. As the legendary saying goes, "One if by land, two if by sea".
Built in 1713, the Old State House is Boston's oldest surviving public building. In this building in 1776 The Declaration of Independence was first read to Bostonians. At the rear of this building on March 5, 1770 British troops fired upon unruly colonials gathering here, killing five. The incident was deemed, "The Boston Massacre".
A statue of Samuel Adams sits in front of Faneuil Hall, another famous meeting hall of the patriots.
The Bell In Hand Tavern sits amongst Boston's old and narrow Cobblestone Streets. This tavern, the oldest in the United States, was opened by "Old Jimmy" Wilson, Boston's last Town Crier in 1795. I had lunch here, they had the best sirloin tips I ever had. Jeff, you should go sometime!
The Old South Meeting Hall was the site of many a meeting where patriots frequently discussed their displeasure with the ruling government at the time, England.
Paul Revere's gravesite.
A "toast" to Sam Adams. May he rest in peace.
The Park Street Church shares this corner with Boston Common. Next to the church is Granary Burying Ground that holds the likes of Paul Revere, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, "Mother" Goose, and the victims of the Boston Massacre.
I was starved for more history in my diet so I took a long weekend trip to Beantown. Where should I start the history? The Freedom Trail, of course! Just follow the red bricks and paint.

I was surprised to see this new medical building at 150 East North & Ellicott Streets while driving through the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Usually I'm on top of this stuff.
This old building formerly known as, "The National Casket Company", will be the new site of Kissling Interests' work/live space apartments. The building sits on Virginia Street between Delaware and Elmwood Avenues. The space will be open by next spring.
This building is the second of two new medical office buildings being built downtown just beyond the medical campus on Michigan at the 33 Expressway. The other new building seen to the right is now open.
Two old bars became one new restaurant called Cabaret on Pearl Street just 3 buildings down from my parking lot. I went there last week for dinner. The food was really good and they did an amazing job renovating the place. My friend Dee Dee happened to be working as a waitress/bartender. Cabaret has a theater theme to the menu and interior.
This weekend saw the start of construction of the old Breitwieser Printing Company building into ArtSpace lofts. ArtSpace is a not for profit company that turns old historic buildings in affordable lofts for artists.

They have been highly successful all over the country and are know to spur economic development in the area of their projects. It will also feature first floor retail space. The site is on Main Street just beyond the medical campus across from the new Delta Sonic.
I went to my parents house in Cheektowaga for dinner tonight. The house looks great. This is where I grew up!

Granite curbs await placement and construction vehicles are waiting to transform this park to glory again!
Work at Front Park had begun. This Olmstead PArk site has been undergoing a major renovation. The city is trying to re-establish the Olmstead parks as original as possible throughout the city. Notice the large mounds of dirt, a sign of progress.
Our manager Jerry takes a chunk out of Amie's butt!
Jerry's kid, Catherine! She's such a cutie!
Bryan from Amici Restoranti. Another hottie!
